Sautéed Shiitaki Mushrooms

- ¾ pound shiitaki mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 shallot minced
- 1 clove garlic minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tablespoon butter
Heat olive oil in a sauté pan.
Once the oil is hot, add the mushrooms and sauté a few minutes on medium-high heat until they begin to brown a little.
Reduce the heat to low and add the shallots and garlic.
Cook until the shallots are translucent and then add the butter and season with salt and pepper.
