Melt the butter in a large sauté pan.
Add the sliced mushrooms and cook over medium to high heat, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid from the mushrooms has evaporated and the mushrooms are nicely browned.
Turn the heat down to low.
Sprinkle the minced garlic over the mushrooms, mix to distribute, and sauté for one to two minutes.
Remove from heat, season with salt and pepper, and serve.
