About a Nourished Life
A Nourished Life is a space where I share the experiences, stories, and practices that inspire a more mindful, well-traveled, and soulfully nourished life. While my passion for food remains at the heart of what I do—creating, photographing, writing about, and enjoying beautiful meals—this journey has grown to include the many ways we feed our spirit: through travel, reflection, and everyday rituals that bring us balance and joy.
After losing my mother, I realized how many questions I still had about her life and past. This sparked a desire to leave behind something more than memories for my son, nieces, nephews—and one day, perhaps grandchildren. Writing became a meaningful way to preserve stories, recipes, and reflections that tell the story of who I am and how I see the world.
My love for cooking was shaped by remarkable people—like Lim Fun, my mother’s Filipino cook trained in Paris, who instilled in me a disciplined and elegant approach to food; and my grandmother Eva, whose San Antonio kitchen was alive with spice, warmth, and wisdom. These early influences taught me the importance of savoring life, both at the table and beyond it.
Whether I’m exploring the winding streets of a Portuguese village, sharing wellness practices that support a vibrant life, or crafting a meal from scratch, A Nourished Life is my way of staying grounded and connected—to myself, to my roots, and to the beauty found in each ordinary day.
